Warrior Policy:
Age of consent
In Pennsylvania, the legal
age of consent is 18 years. Recent Philadelphia piercing and tattoo
regulations limit the minimum age to 16 years with parental consent.
We have a very strict policy on refusal to pierce
minors. Basically, it is not worth it for any of our piercers to
lose their jobs to pierce an under aged child. We will card all clientele,
and our staff are well trained to spot fake IDs. The following forms
of identification are acceptable:
-
State Drivers or Photo non-drivers License
-
US Passport
-
Military ID
-
Government Employee ID
-
Birth Certificate with a matching Photo ID
We will not accept hand written, typed out,
laminated personal IDs. We will not accept check cashing ID's or
photocopied birth certificates (which is illegal unless done by a notary
public).
Legal Guardian Consent
Legal Guardian Consent
If you are under the age
of 18, Warrior can perform a body
piercing for you under two conditions:one, that you have a parent
or legal guardian to sign for your pierce, and two, in our Philadelphia
locations,
you must be at least
16 years of age. In Philadelphia
minors under the age of 16 can get pierced if accompanied by a physicians
note allowing the pierce to be done. The parent must bring identification
that is acceptable by the list above. The minor must have a school
photo ID or a birth certificate with photo ID. We cannot
accept any of the following:
-
Brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents,
or friends over the age of 18
-
"Permission" notes from your parent
-
Parental consent without proper identification
If you have a legal guardian other than a
parent, you must bring proper documentation (i.e. guardianship papers,
emancipation papers) and photo ID.
This may seem to be a lot
of restrictions, but this policy is enforced for the safety of the minor
and the goodwill of Warrior. To sum it all up,
"Come PREPARED". Don't waltz into one of our shops with NO
identification and expect us to believe everything is legitimate
Too Old?
As far as maximum age
limits go, there are none. If you are a parent who is bringing in
a child for a piercing, think about getting one yourself. It can
be a very nice bonding experience!
